Sloat has a dedicated, involved staff. Our teachers and staff are respected and supported, and we have a very low turn-over rate. We are lucky this year to obtain the services of new principal Ms. Jeanne Dowd, who comes to us from Fairmont Elementary School. She brings expertise, enthusiasm, and boundless energy; she is a real asset. We thank our outgoing principal Dr. Deborah Faigenbaum, who did a tremendous job and really raised the bar academically for Sloat. Dr. Faigenbaum was asked to lead a collaboration between Stanford, San Francisco State, and SFUSD that will train district teachers.
