Green Up Clean Up

Commodore Sloat holds usually holds three Green Up Clean Up days. The first is usually held the weekend before school starts in August, to spiff up the school and help the teachers get their classrooms spic and span. Families weed, sweep, pick up trash, water plants, dust in classrooms, tune up computers. You name it.

The other two Green Up Clean Ups are held during the school year. They're not only a great way to beautify the school, but also a good way to tackle big projects or repairs that require many hands; for instance, last year the art class painted new wall hangings for the auditorium, and at the last Green Up Clean Up, a group of parents installed them.

This year, we'll combine our Community Breakfast with one of the Green Up Clean Up days, so families can come and enjoy a good breakfast together, and then spend a couple of hours working together afterwards.

Check the Calendar link for exact dates, and if you have further questions, send an e-mail to sloatparents@gmail.com, and someone will get back to you.
